The new Museum of Scotland, a magnificent building linked to the beautiful Victorian National Museum. There are two Galleries of Modern Art: These can be reached from our house by a delightful walk through our private gardens (key provided to our guests) along the Water of Leith. The Royal Botanic Gardens with its unique Chinese Garden, its hothouses and its beautiful Georgian Glasshouse within fifteen minute walking distance of Moray Place. The world-famous Edinburgh International Festival of Music and Drama which takes place during the last three weeks of August.

Edinburgh has a lot of tourist attractions including:
The Royal Mile, the Castle, Holyrood Palace, St Giles Cathedral, John Knox House. For younger visitors there's Our Dynamic Earth, the Royal Yacht (now permanently based in Leith - with a tour bus taking you direct from the city centre to the yacht and the Museum of Childhood. The People's Museum, Brass Rubbing (in a church on the Royal Mile), Ghost Walks, Greyfriars' Churchyard and the statue to the little dog known as Greyfriars' Bobby.
