The world-famous Edinburgh International Festival of Music and Drama which takes place during the last three weeks of August. Edinburgh has a lot of tourist attractions including: The Royal Mile, the Castle, Holyrood Palace, St Giles Cathedral, John Knox House. For younger visitors there's Our Dynamic Earth, the Royal Yacht (now permanently based in Leith - with a tour bus taking you direct from the city centre to the yacht and the Museum of Childhood. The People's Museum, Brass Rubbing (in a church on the Royal Mile), Ghost Walks, Greyfriars' Churchyard and the statue to the little dog known as Greyfriars' Bobby.   Edinburgh is ideal for a winter break too !!
